Your First Visit to Rimrock Podiatry

We want your first appointment to go as smoothly as possible. Here's everything you need to know to prepare.

New Patient Packet

Save time at your appointment by downloading and completing the new patient packet beforehand. Bring the completed packet with you to your visit. Signatures are completed in person at the office.

Prefer to complete forms when you arrive? That's fine too. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

What to Bring

Having these items ready will help us make the most of your appointment time.

Photo ID

A valid government-issued photo identification (driver's license, state ID, or passport).

Insurance Card

Your current insurance card (front and back). If you have secondary insurance, bring that card as well.

Referral (if applicable)

If your insurance requires a referral from your primary care provider, please bring the referral paperwork.

List of Medications

A current list of all medications, supplements, and vitamins you take, including dosages.

Previous Imaging

Any X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans related to your foot or ankle condition. CDs or digital copies are preferred.

Comfortable Clothing

Wear or bring shorts, loose pants, or clothing that allows easy access to your feet and ankles. Sandals or shoes that slip off easily are also helpful.

What to Expect

1

Check-In & Paperwork

Always plan to arrive 15 minutes early. Even when your paperwork is already done, it gives the front desk time to verify insurance, confirm any updates, and get you settled before your appointment. Our team will collect your ID, insurance information, and any referral paperwork at check-in.

2

Medical History Review

Your doctor will review your medical history, current symptoms, and any previous treatments you've tried. Be prepared to describe when your symptoms started, what makes them better or worse, and how they affect your daily activities.

3

Physical Examination

Your board-certified surgeon will perform a thorough examination of your feet, ankles, and lower extremities. This includes evaluating your gait, range of motion, and the specific area of concern.

4

Diagnostic Imaging (If Needed)

If X-rays or other imaging are needed, we will coordinate them as part of your evaluation.

5

Treatment Plan

Your doctor will explain your diagnosis, discuss all available treatment options (both surgical and non-surgical) and work with you to create a plan that fits your goals and lifestyle. You will never be pressured into a treatment you're not comfortable with.

Your first appointment will typically last 30 to 45 minutes. More complex conditions may require additional time.
